The daughter of Polish Jews who survived the Holocaust, Talila was born in
France after the Second World War. An actress and singer, Talila strives to keep
alive the Yiddish language, which was the vernacular of the Jews of Central and
Eastern Europe before its speakers were massacred by the Brown and Red
Madnesses. Talila has been building a body of work between traditional chanson,
klezmer, jazz and French chanson since 1977. She won the Prix Charles Cros with
