Tag Team
Tag Team, consisting of Cecil Glenn and Steve Gibson, were an American
hip-hop/pop-rap duo from Denver, Colorado. They met at Manual High School in
1982 and began their musical journey together. In the late 1980s, after moving
to Atlanta, Georgia, they were inspired by Southern rap music and released their
first single, "Strictly Political", as The Tag Team Crew in 1990. In August
1992, Tag Team recorded "Whoomp! (There It Is)", which became a huge hit.
Despite initial rejections from record labels, the duo self-financed the
