Sylvia Brooks
Sylvia Brooks, born Sylvia Victoria Ippolito in Miami Beach, Florida, is a jazz
vocalist and songwriter. The daughter of jazz pianist Don Ippolito and opera
singer Johanna Dordick, Brooks initially pursued classical theatre, studying at
The American Conservatory Theater under Allen Fletcher and Bill Ball, before
transitioning to jazz. She made her debut as a jazz singer at the Jazz Bakery in
Los Angeles in 2009, following collaborations with Thomas Garvin, who wrote the
