Sydney Forest is an American composer and musician. The daughter of Gayla
Peevey, Forest began her career by signing with Disney Music Publishing shortly
after she began gigging in Los Angeles. Her work gained a great deal of
attention, including the National Academy of Songwriters’ Lionel Richie
Songwriting Award. In 1989, her music was featured in Studio Ghibli's English
dub of Kiki’s Delivery Service, contributing the songs "Soaring" and "I'm Gonna
Fly". Forest also appeared on the Warner Bros. network TV series Popular in
1999, performing her own songs as melodic interludes. ...
