Suzanna Owiyo, born May 10, 1975, in Kenya, is a singer known for her folk music. Trained by her grandfather to play the nyatiti, she excelled in school music festivals. In 1998, Suzanna Owiyo moved to Nairobi to become a choriste for Sally Oyugi and later joined Bora Bora Sound. Her breakthrough came in 2001 with "Kisumu 100" for Kisumu's centennial celebrations, leading to her first album, Mama Africa (2004).
