Stephen Jones
Stephen Jones is an English songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who formed the
alternative rock group Babybird. After writing and recording home demos in the
early 1990s, he self‑released I Was Born a Man in July 1995 under the moniker
Babybird, then formed a touring line‑up that became Babybird. The band signed to
Echo Records in 1996 and released the single "You're Gorgeous", which peaked at
number 3 on the UK Singles Chart that October and became one of the year’s
