Banquells on February 15, 1970, in Mexico City, Mexico. Her upbringing was
steeped in show business, as she was the daughter of famous actress Silvia
Pasquel and musician Micky Salas, who themselves come from a long lineage of
performers. Stephanie Salas made her singing debut on a TV show at age 8,
