Spinvis is the stage name of Dutch singer-songwriter Erik de Jong (born February
2, 1961), known for his distinctive blend of lo-fi pop, electronic
experimentation, and striking lyrics. His self-recorded debut album, Spinvis
(2002), became a cult success, producing the minor hits "Smalfilm" and
"Bagagedrager." To perform the songs live, he assembled a multi-generational
band, leading to the live album Nieuwegein aan Zee. Later releases included
