Special D.
Dennis Horstmann, known professionally as Special D., was born on September 16,
1980, in Hamburg, Germany. He began his musical journey at age 13 with piano and
keyboard lessons, eventually leading a school band as guitarist and keyboarder.
His first release came in 2000 under the pseudonym DJ Awaline, collaborating
with Tobi Bosch on the trance track "Trancegiving". Special D.'s breakthrough
single was "Come With Me", released in March 2003, which topped European charts
and earned him the TMF Award for best international dance act in the
