Souleymane Faye, born in 1951 in Dakar, Senegal, is a singer. In the 1970s, he
began playing music, inspired by his relatives, while also working as a
carpenter during the week and performing as a musician on weekends. He later
spent ten years as a DJ, entertainer, and singer for Club Méditerranée (Club
Med), performing across various European countries. In 1982, he returned
permanently to Senegal, and in 1985 joined the group Xalam, where he continued
