Sonikem, whose real name is Stéphane-Eddy Mbog, was born in Sarcelles to a
Cameroonian father and a Beninese mother. It was at secondary school that he
felt his vocation for music, and more particularly rap, a style that can be
associated with his first teenage formations. However, he discovered a passion
for jazz thanks to a friend on double bass who was looking to form a band, a
diversity that led him to explore different musical horizons in his musical
