Snorre Kirk, born in 1981 in Norway, is a jazz drummer and composer who studied
at the Rytmisk Musikkonservatorium in Copenhagen. After early performances with
Malene Mortensen and joining Magnus Hjorth's trio in 2007, Kirk released the
debut concept album Blues Modernism (2012). The album won the annual prize for
best album in Denmark from the magazine Jazz Spezial and received two
nominations for the Danish Music Awards. Kirk followed with the albums Europa,
Beat (2018), Tangerine Rhapsody (2019) with Stephen Riley, and Top Dog (2023).
