SL2
UK musical group SL2, from London, England, formed in 1985. The trio consisted
of DJ Matt "Slipmatt" Nelson and John "Lime" Fernández, along with rapper Jason
"Jay-J" James. Initially immersed in the hip-hop scene during their teenage
years, SL2 transitioned to the burgeoning rave culture. Their breakthrough came
in 1989 when they became resident DJs for the Raindance promoter, leading to
their first single "Do That Dance" released through B-Ware Records. In 1991, SL2
launched their own label, Awesome Records, releasing "DJ's Take Control", which
caught the attention of XL Record...
