Sitiados, a Portuguese band formed in Lisbon in 1990, was composed of José
Resende (guitar), João Aguardela (vocals), Mário Miranda (bass), and Fernando
Fonseca (drums). The group initially started as a new wave band but evolved to
incorporate strong influences from folk music. Their breakthrough came with the
release of their debut album Sitiados in 1992, which included the popular track
"Vida de Marinheiro" and achieved gold status, selling over 40,000 copies. The
