Silvio Rodríguez Domínguez is a celebrated Cuban folk musician,
singer-songwriter, guitarist, poet, and political figure. He was born on
November 29, 1946, in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba. Considered a leading voice
in the Nueva Trova movement, he is known for his work that emerged post-Cuban
Revolution. Silvio Rodríguez's musical roots were nurtured during his service in
Cuba's military, where he began composing and deepened his interest in social
