Silver was an American country rock band formed in the 1970s. The group
consisted of John Batdorf on lead vocals and guitar, Brent Mydland on keyboards
and vocals, Tom Leadon on bass guitar and vocals, Greg Collier on guitar and
vocals, and Harry Stinson on drums and percussion. Silver gained prominence with
their 1976 pop hit "Wham Bam Shang-A-Lang", written by country songwriter Rick
Giles. The song peaked at Number 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 in October 1976 and
