Silvanno Salles, born Silvano dos Santos Reis on January 9, 1980, in Simões
Filho, Bahia, is one of the pioneers of arrocha, a genre that blends romantic
lyrics with slow, rhythmic melodies. Before entering the music industry, he
worked as a market vendor and performed in groups like Estilos Modernos and
Brisa da Noite. His solo career took off in 2001, and he soon became known as
the "rei do arrocha" (king of arrocha), releasing over 15 albums and two DVDs by
