Sidney Magalhães, known professionally as Sidney Magal, was born on June 19,
1950, in Rio de Janeiro, and is a Brazilian actor, singer, dancer, voice actor,
and military man. He initially aimed to sing bossa nova but shifted to rock and
other genres. Under the name Sidney Rossi, he released a CD titled Tema de Amor
for CBS, which did not achieve success. Magal was discovered by producer Roberto
Livi, who transformed him into a gypsy-style performer. His breakthrough came
with the albums Sidney Magal (1977) and Magal (1978), featuring hits like "Meu
