Shlomo Artzi, born November 26, 1949, in Moshav Alonei Abba, Israel, is a singer
known for folk rock and rock music. At twelve, he started playing guitar and
singing. In 1970, Shlomo Artzi won the Israel Song Festival with "Pitom Achshav,
Pitom Hayom" (Suddenly Now, Suddenly Today), included in his debut album Shlomo
Artzi, which topped Kol Israel's annual chart. He represented Israel at the
Eurovision Song Contest in 1975 with "At Ve'Ani" (You and Me), placing eleventh.
Throughout the 1980s, he gained popularity with albums like Tirkod (Dance) and
Layla Lo Shaket (Restless Night...
