Shinichi Osawa (born 7 February 1967 in Japan) was a Japanese singer, DJ, record
producer, and composer. He began as bassist and producer for the Kyoto group
Mondo Grosso in 1991, releasing early EPs on For Life Records. After the group
disbanded in 1995, he pursued a solo career, issuing the acid‑jazz/house album
Closer in 1997 and moving to Sony Music Associated Records in 1999, where MG4
(2000) blended jazz and house. In 2003, he released Next Wave; 2007 saw the
electro‑house album The One on Avex Trax, followed by SO2 in 2010. His single
