In September 2022, Iranian singer Shervin Hajipour (Persian: شروین حاجیپور)
added his voice to the anti-government demonstrations sweeping Iran with his
powerful protest song "Baraye," inspired by the tragic death of Mahsa Amini and
the surrounding feelings of injustice awoken in so many. He was arrested on 29
September 2022, two days after the song made itself known, and was released on
