Jean-Eudes Bourdages-Aster (born in Maliotenam, Quebec), known professionally as
Shauit, was a Canadian singer-songwriter who merged traditional Innu music with
reggae, pop-rock, and folk. Shauit was raised as a francophone but learned the
Innu-aimun language as a teenager to reconnect with his heritage. He initially
rose to prominence as a frequent collaborator with the rapper Samian. Shauit
released his self-titled debut EP in 2014 and his first full-length album, Apu
