Sharon Tandy, born Sharon Finkelstein on September 18, 1943, in Johannesburg,
South Africa, was a singer known for her work in soul, pop, and psychedelic
rock. She began her career as a teenager, releasing early singles with
Continental and Gallotone Records. In 1964, Tandy moved to London with music
manager Frank Fenter, who secured her a contract with Pye Records. Her debut
British single, "Now hat You’ve Gone", was released in 1965. She later signed
with Stax Records, becoming the first white artist at the label. Notable
