Shakey Jake Harris
James D. "Shakey Jake" Harris, born on April 12, 1921, in Earle, Arkansas, was
an American Chicago blues singer, harmonicist, and songwriter. Harris moved to
Chicago at age seven and played in several blues ensembles in the late 1940s.
His debut recording was the single "Call Me if You Need Me" / "Roll Your
Moneymaker" in 1958, featuring Magic Sam and Syl Johnson on guitar for Artistic
Records. In 1960, Bluesville Records released his album Good Times. Harris
