John Garrison, born on January 7, 1973 in Liverpool, England, is an English
musician, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. After growing
up in a musical family and refusing formal lessons, he co‑founded the British
alternative rock band Budapest in 1999, performing with them until their
disbandment in 2006. He launched a solo career in New York, releasing Above the
Cosmos (2007) and Departures (2009), the latter named Britsound Radio’s “British
