Sarah Blasko is a platinum-selling indie rock artist from Sydney, Australia. Born as "Sarah Elizabeth Blaskow" on September 23, 1976, she was raised by missionary parents and began singing in church. She started writing her own songs at 18 years old, often accompanying herself on guitar. After earning a regional fan base with her first band, Acquiesce, she began performing locally as a solo artist in April 2002.
