Sara Curruchich, born Sara Curruchich Cúmez in San Juan Comalapa, Guatemala, on
July 25, 1993, is a Kaqchikel Maya singer-songwriter and activist. Curruchich
began performing in 2012, gaining national prominence in 2015 with her single
“Ch'uti'xtän” (“Girl”). She released her debut studio album, Somos, in 2019,
followed by her second studio album, Mujer Indígena, in 2021. Curruchich sings
in both Spanish and Kaqchikel, advocating for indigenous and women's rights
