Sara Bareilles
Born in Eureka, California, on December 7, 1979, Sara Bareilles discovered her
love of singing in church and appeared in local stage productions before
studying communication at the University of California, Los Angeles. There, she
joined Awaken A Cappella and sang on the group’s album Dysfunktional Family.
After graduating, Bareilles performed as a singer and pianist in Los Angeles
clubs, contributed the song “Undertow” to the film Girl Play and independently
