Sandrine Piau
Lyric singer Sandrine Piau (b. 1965) began her soprano career in Baroque music
with conductor William Christie, performing Handel(Serse, Rodrigo) and
Rameau(Les Indes Galantes). After several operatic and sacred works, she turned
to classical music, particularly Mozart's Mitridate and The Magic Flute,
followed by Debussy's mélodies. Winner of the Prix Ravel in 2002, Sandrine Piau
has given a series of recitals dedicated to 20th-century French melodies in
Evocation (2007), to the glory of Handel in Between Heaven and Earth (2009) and
back to the Baroque in Le Triomphe de L'Amour (...
