Samantha Navarro, born August 14, 1971, in Montevideo, Uruguay, is an Uruguayan
singer, songwriter, and guitarist. She studied guitar with Mario Paysee at 14
and received vocal training from Gilda Dolara. She won the Premio a Mejor Autor
at the inaugural Festival de la Canción Inédita in 1994, sharing the prize with
Inés Pierri. She released her debut solo album Samantha Navarro in 1996 and
toured the Netherlands in 1997. In 2008 she released the album Sed with the
group La Dulce, which included the track “Jardín Japonés”. She collaborated with
