SALT&SUGAR
SALT&SUGAR, a Japanese jazz duo formed in May 1996 by pianist Sato Takeyoshi and
bassist Shio Tani, debuted with a series of live concerts across nine cities
that same month, showcasing a blend of jazz, rock, and pop. They released their
first single, "DIARY", in November 1996, followed by their debut album Concerts
in December, both under an independent label. Over the next decade the pair
continued to write and perform, issuing tribute covers of artists such as
Kazuya Oda and Masayuki Suzuki, and drawing comparisons to the improvisational
work of Chick Corea and Bobby McFerrin....
