Sally Whitwell, born in 1974 in Canberra, Australia, is a classical musician and
teacher known for her work as a pianist. She began playing piano on her
grandmother's instrument and later received formal training at the Australian
National University’s School of Music, where she completed a Bachelor of Music
with Honours in 1997. Whitwell's career took off when she released her debut
solo album Mad Rush: Piano Music of Philip Glass in June 2011 on ABC Classics,
which won the Best Classical Album award at the ARIA Music Awards later that
