Saft, a Norwegian progressive rock band originally from Bergen, was formed in
1966 as Neither Nor, with Karsten Olsen on drums and Oddvar Rørtveit on bass.
The band played a pivotal role in the production of the rock musical Hair at Den
Nationale Scene in Bergen during 1970-1971. Saft's debut concert took place in
1970, and their breakthrough came with "People in Motion," which topped European
hit-parades in 1971. The group won the Spellemannprisen 1973 for "best group"
and performed at the Ragnarock festival in Holmenkollen that same year. Saft
