S.E. Rogie
Sooliman Ernest Rogie, known as S.E. Rogie and born in 1926 in Fonikoh, Pujehun
District, Sierra Leone, was a highlife and palm‑wine guitarist and singer who
taught himself guitar while working as a tailor. He became a professional
musician in the 1940s. His notable hits include "Koneh Pehlawo" (1962) and
"Please Go Easy with Me" (1962). In 1965, he founded the Morningstars, and in
1988, he released Palm Wine Guitar Music: The 60’s Sound and the following year,
