The Royal String Quartet, founded in Warsaw in 1998, consists of Izabella
Szałaj-Zimak (first violin), Elwira Przybyłowska (second violin), Paweł Czarny
(viola) and Michał Pepol (cello). The quartet combines the Classical and
Romantic canon with a particularly strong commitment to 20th- and 21st-century
Polish music, performing works by Szymanowski, Różycki, Górecki, Penderecki,
Lutosławski, Paweł Szymański, Paweł Mykietyn and other contemporary composers,
