The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, a cavalry regiment of the British Army, were
formed on July 2, 1971 through the amalgamation of the 3rd Carabiniers (Prince
of Wales’s Dragoon Guards) and The Royal Scots Greys (2nd Dragoons). Members of
the regiment’s Pipes and Drums began releasing music shortly after their
formation, with their first single “Heyken’s Serenade / The Day Is Ended”
