The Congolese-born French rapper known as Captaine Roshi was born in Kinshasa on
June 16, 1996. Raised in the Democratic Republic of Congo, he left the country
at age 11 and settled down in the Parisian neighborhood of Pigalle. There, he
took his first steps as an MC in the group Ultimate Boyz before launching a solo
career through a series of releases on his Soundcloud page. In 2018, he rose to
prominence with the #SDD (Serpent Deviendra Dragon) freestyle series, which
