Roseanna Elizabeth Vitro, born 28 February 1951 in Hot Springs, Arkansas, is an
American jazz vocalist whose early exposure to gospel, rock, and classical music
shaped her eclectic style. After moving to Houston in the 1970s, she entered the
jazz scene under Ray Sullenger, performing with Arnett Cobb and hosting a
KUHF‑FM radio show. In 1978, she relocated to New York City, studying at the
Manhattan School of Music and collaborating with Kenny Werner and Fred Hersch.
