contributions to Ghazal, Indian pop, light classical, Sufi music, fusion, and
jazz. The son of the late Pandit Chaturbhuj Rathod, a renowned exponent of
Dhrupad, Roop Kumar began his musical journey in the 1980s as a highly
sought-after tabla player before transitioning into vocals. His playback singing
debut came in the film Angaar (1992), and he also sang in the film Gumrah
