Ronald Delano McCoury, known as Ronnie McCoury, was born on March 16, 1967 in
York County, Pennsylvania. He is an American mandolin player, singer, and
songwriter who began his musical journey at a young age, influenced by his
father's band, Del McCoury & The Dixie Pals. At the age of 13, inspired by Bill
Monroe, he took up the mandolin and joined the Del McCoury Band in 1981. Ronnie
McCoury released his first album with his brother Rob, Ronnie & Rob McCoury, in
