Ronald Raymond Barron, known professionally as Ronnie Barron, was an American
actor, musician, and blue-eyed soul singer. He began performing in New Orleans
at a young age and released early singles such as “Morgus The Magnificent” and
“The Lonely Boy.” In 1958, he met Mac Rebennack (later known as Dr. John) and
performed with him at various local venues. During this period, he created the
Reverend Ether persona to entertain audiences, a character that later influenced
