Ronn McFarlane, born in 1953 in West Virginia, is an American lutenist and
composer known for his interpretations of Renaissance music. He began playing
guitar as a teenager and later studied classical guitar at Shenandoah
Conservatory and Peabody Conservatory with Paul O'Dette, Roger Harmon, and Pat
O'Brien. In 1978, McFarlane started concentrating on the lute and became a
founding member of The Baltimore Consort in 1979. He began touring extensively
with the group and as a soloist across the United States, Canada, and Europe.
