Robertino
Roberto Loreti, known professionally as Robertino, is an Italian singer. Born on
October 22, 1947 in Rome, Loreti began singing after studying at the Tito Schipa
conservatory. In 1958, Loreti performed as the lead singer in the choir of the
opera Assassinio nella cattedrale. In 1960, a contract with the Danish label
Triola followed after discovery by Danish producer Volmer Sørensen during the
Summer Olympics in Rome. Under this label, Loreti recorded the single “Mamma”
(1960) and the song “O sole mio” (1960). The song “Jamaica” was later included
in the 1980 film Moscow Does Not ...
