Robby Krieger
A native of Los Angeles, Robert Alan Krieger was sensitive to music from an
early age, but it wasn't until he was seventeen that he picked up his first
guitar chord. Seduced, he decided to take it more seriously, starting with
Flamenco lessons, before moving on to Folk, then Blues, which he never really
abandoned, before finally opting for Rock'n'roll.
He joined the Doors shortly after recording their demo in September 1965. An
adept bottleneck player, he proved to be an accomplished melodist and talented
