Rob Van Den Broeck
Rob van den Broeck was a Dutch modern jazz pianist and painter from Hilversum,
born on December 1, 1940. He studied graphic design at the Rietveld Academy in
Amsterdam from 1957 to 1962, and later studied at the conservatory in Hilversum.
In 1961, he joined the group of Dick Vennik, and subsequently formed a trio with
vocalist Henny Vonk and saxophonist Tony Vos. During the mid-1960s, he
accompanied American jazz musicians including Ben Webster and Dexter Gordon
during tours of Dutch clubs, and contributed to recording sessions with Joe
