Ricardo Herz
Ricardo Herz, born 1978, is a violinist whose classical foundation was later
enriched with jazz studies at the Berklee College of Music and mentorship under
Didier Lockwood in France, where he also led workshops on Brazilian music. In
2004 he earned the popular jury award at the Visa Prize for Brazilian Music,
prompting the release of his debut solo album Violino Popular Brasileiro (2004)
and collaborations with Yamandu Costa, Hamilton de Holanda, Nelson Ayres,
Toninho Ferragutti, and Dominguinhos. From 2002 to 2010, he lived in Paris,
