Stewart Ransom "Rhett" Miller II, born September 6, 1970 in Austin, Texas, is an
American singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Miller began playing guitar at 12
and writing songs at 13. He released his debut album Mythologies in 1989 while
still in high school. In 1993, at the age of 17, Miller formed the band Old
97's, which became a notable alternative country rock act. Their first album,
Hitchhike to Rhome, was released on Big Iron Records that same year. After
signing with Elektra Records in 1995, Old 97's gained significant attention with
following albums like Too Far to Care ...
