Reynaldo Valera Guardiano, better known as Rey Valera, was born on March 4,
1954, in the Philippines. He began his music career as a member of Electric Hair
Band before transitioning to a solo artist and songwriter. In 1977, he released
his first single "Ako si Superman" under Vicor Records, which marked his
breakthrough moment. Valera wrote numerous hit songs for various artists,
including Sharon Cuneta's "Mr. D.J." and "Kahit Maputi na ang Buhok Ko", both
