Rene McLean
René McLean, born on December 16, 1946, in New York City, is an American hard
bop saxophonist and flutist. He is the son of renowned jazz musician Jackie
McLean and began studying music under his father's guidance at an early age. He
made his professional debut in the 1960s and later worked with prominent artists
such as Woody Shaw, Hugh Masekela, Horace Silver, and Dizzy Gillespie. Known for
his hard bop style, he has also explored African and Asian musical traditions
through extensive international travel and research. His discography includes
