Reagan Youth
Reagan Youth, an American anarcho-punk band, was formed in Queens, New York
City, in early 1980 by singer Dave Rubinstein and guitarist Paul Bakija. The duo
met at Russell Sage JrHS and attended Forest Hills High School together. After
rehearsals under the name Pus with a varying rhythm section, they changed their
name to Reagan Youth shortly before playing their first gig on August 22, 1980.
The band quickly gained traction in Manhattan's punk clubs and released their
debut album Youth Anthems for the New Order in 1984. They signed with R Radical
